World of Cookies specializes in developing tasty and originally packaged giveaways based on internationally known confectionary. They are now introducing their Fortune Cookies, very popular in Europe, in China.
There are many stories going around about where fortune cookies originate from, but there is no doubt that they are very attractive and particularly tasty giveaways. Jessica Gulden has been in charge of a branch of her father's confectionery business since 2017 and she takes great pleasure in the connecting effect of cookies and cakes from various countries.
Jessica Gulden: "Every country has its own tea and coffee culture, whether you are in Morocco, in France or in England. There should be a suitable cookie to go with this. At World of Cookies we like to create a European connection but also beyond through our products."
It does work. The Fortune cookies, which her father Erik-Jan already produced near the port of Rotterdam for the Dutch market from 1999 onwards, were in great demand and orders included hotels, restaurants and hairdressers.
Jessica Gulden: "Fortunately, because he firmly believed in it and had used all his savings to buy a cookie-making machine!"
The demand for Fortune cookies also grew outside the Netherlands. Gulden decided to build the concept further at European level. He put his daughter in charge of BV World of Cookies and this company is now a supplier of personalized cookies, pies and cakes from and for all parts of the world.
In the meantime they not only supply almost all the 27 EU countries, but 20 to 30 percent goes to other continents. They regularly receive orders from Hong Kong, Oman and Canada. For instance they were allowed to provide the Canadian Brewhouse (the biggest brewery in Canada) with hundreds of thousands of Fortune cookies.
For Cuba Travel Network they produced a private label tin, fully printed with a Dutch ‘Delft Blue’ design combined with Cuba related phrases and symbols. We exported these tins to Cuba filled with 10 Syrup waffles.
The development of the products is inspired by confectionary from all over the world and then World of Cookies adds a twist to them. Each country has its own type of cookie-product, they have made it their job to make those products well-known.
Last year they baked, apart from wholesale productions, at least 1,500,000 cookies for promotional purposes.
For the (mini) syrup waffles, a typical Dutch delicacy going back to the 19th century, the present count is 50,000.
At the beginning of 2019 the gingerbread cookie was also introduced in the World of Cookies line. Moreover, the Italian Cantucinnis, French Macaroons and American Chocolate Cookies are also among the ‘most wanted cookies’.
All the cookies are beautifully printed or packaged in a striking tin, box or other festive packaging. Packed in modern packaging and branded with your logo, those cookies become perfect giveaways, mailing products, relation gifts, import products and so on.
The packaging of the fortune cookies in metalized foil is available in 12 different colors. Want to make the gift extra special? World of Cookies can personalize the wrappers of the cookie with a full color design. In addition to the wrappers they can also personalize the tins, gift, boxes displays, et cetera, in which the cookies are delivered.
World of Cookies supplies the products to a wide range of clients. These ranges from self-employed persons to big corporations, from coffee shops to large restaurant chains, supermarkets, retailers and gift shops.
With a small team of 3 employees in the office and 3 employees in the factory they manage to process dozens of orders and inquiries daily.
The key of the cookie is the hidden message which is beautifully packaged and printed and therefore a unique give-away.
Many people think that Fortune cookies originate from China, whereas the cookies are still quite unknown in that country, at any rate in the promotional industry.
Jessica Gulden: "It is wonderful after 20 years of ‘Dutch happiness’ to finally introduce the Fortune cookies in China. It is even more wonderful to be able to do this with my father!"
